The second branch of the infamous Drunch opened in Regent’s Park, and serves halal dishes, from burgers to Italian burrata. We loved the atmosphere & decor of the place, as well as the fine dining experience. This branch is more spacious than the other, and has a different menu (however both still have their famous Drunch Cheesecake!).
Check them out here on Instagram.
N.B. Alcohol & Shisha are served on the premises
What did we order?
For the mains we got this tender lamb shank [£19.50] on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes, served with roasted cherry tomatoes and a Lamb Jus. If you’ve never had a tender lamb shank you’re missing out! Meat should be juicy, and this was juicy and perfectly paired with the creamy bed of mashed potatoes. I mean just look at that sauce all over the mash!

I just got the Drunch beef burger [£14.95] for the sake of getting a beef burger but I ended up finishing this and craving more. A simple beef burger, with cheese and excellent house sauce, executed so well. I still prefer slider/ thin type burgers (like Burgista Bros), but I know I’ve enjoyed a meal when I crave it whilst writing about it, and I am definitely craving this.

I love anything with Mushrooms, and I thought this was a great veggie option! This mushroom risotto [£14, V/GF] is made with seasonal wild mushrooms, truffle oil & creme fraiche. I don’t like when a dish has an overwhelming truffle flavour, but the balance of the mushrooms with the creamy risotto was great. Not unique but definitely tasty.

This was the grilled 10 oz sirloin steak [£25.95] with portobello mushrooms, tomato, chips and a Bernaise sauce. I love a good steak, and I get mine cooked medium. I think this was slightly overcooked, but you could tell this was a great cut of meat. I thought this would be a winner over the Lamb Shank, but I did prefer the Shank.

Have a look at some #SteakPorn below.

The desserts at Drunch are definitely winners. This is the Drunch Famous Cheesecake [£14]. Plain vanilla cheesecake filling, with a buttery biscuit base. The best plain cheesecake i’ve had! All of these desserts are quite filling so they are defo to share.

I love caramel/ toffee etc. so I had to try this Sticky Toffee Pudding [£7}. I love a moist sticky toffee pudding, that doesn’t have large fruit chunks in it, so this one for me hit the spot. All the toffee sauce with the warm pudding and cold vanilla ice cream hit the spot.

Another cheesecake from Drunch that hit the spot. This is a salted caramel cheesecake [£13] with popcorn and salted caramel sauce drizzled alllll over the top.

I included the starters last, as I preferred the other courses waaay more.
The Burrata [£10.95] I chose as I hadn’t tried it before, and I was expecting something really amazing as I have seen Burrata all over social media. Burrata is made from Mozarella & Cream, and tastes exactly like it sounds. This dish was refreshing and light, and all the flavours of the roasted veg and pesto worked amazingly together, but it’s not something I would order again.

The chicken croquettes {£5.95] are made from roasted chicken, and come with a delicious chilli mayo. The croquettes however lacked some flavour, and would have been a little bland without the chilli mayo.

I got the salt beef brisket crostini [£11], as one of my favourite late night halal meals is a salt beef bagel from Bagel & Shake, so I was curious to see what a pricier salt beef meal would taste like. I loveeee salt beef so this starter was a winner for me, however I did feel like the crostini bread itself could have been improved.

We did get some Mocktails [£6] as we love a good drink. Red Passion was a strawberry, passion fruit & cranberry juice drink, while the blue sky was a blueberry, lime & soda drink. I also got a really cool drink called ‘Super Flu Sky High’ (on the right) which is from the alcoholic section, but you can get it virgin. It comes with candyfloss on top too.

Overall…
Although I was underwhelmed by the starters, the mains and desserts at Drunch made up for it, and more. I would recommend this place for a date night, or a birthday meal with friends. It’s definitely the kind of place you want to go dressed up to.
This looks amazing but salt beef? Ewwwwwwwwww hahahahaha everything else looks so delicious though except for the starters!
